Manchester United cannot quit the Jibber-Jabber…

You know what I enjoy? A good, clean, healthy computer. So instead of formatting the piece of catastrophe I have sitting a few metres away from me, I just gave up and have now converted my laptop into the blog-mobile. A typical male (read: spoilt brat) solution, am I right?

Anyways, there’s a bit of an ironic focus going down with the Old Trafford fixture looming before us; ironic in that the question hovering whether either team will choose to rotate their sides or not goes somewhat against the hype and fizz that accompanies these two teams.

-{At the beginning of the season, all one could hear was Nani/Anderson were going to tear up the league…}-

And one man who’s still trying to keep that fizz going in spite of his ageing years is little Ryan Giggs, who says Arsenal’s ‘taking for granted of the title’ is what will cost us in the end. The hairy winger had this to say:

I did notice the praise Arsenal were getting earlier in the season but it didn’t really bother me. Arsenal were playing good football, but we felt we were as well. I just thought ‘right, you keep talking about Arsenal, put the pressure on them and keep saying that Arsenal have won the league already and that they’re going to walk it’.

Never before – and I mean never before – have I seen such filthy tosh expressed in my life. At the beginning of the season, all one could hear was Nani/Anderson were going to tear up the league, Chelsea were buying clever and Torres this/Torres that. Selling Henry, Adebayor being ‘hopeless’, and the squad being far too young were all the bleating we could digest when it came to prospects surrounding Arsenal.

-{No-one is saying Arsenal are going to walk it.}-

Now, five points ahead, phenomenally more consistent than Man United could hope to be, and playing stuff that compares to our other title-charges (pretty football actually does win things for Arsenal, you see…), the Manchester United players start bleating away like sheep to the slaughter.

No-one is saying Arsenal are going to walk it. The only people who are taking ‘their’ title for granted is Man United players, and their fans. So much so, that they are slate Arsenal fans for ‘dreaming’ about a title, and counter this with ‘the treble is ours’. Look no further for delusion than here, my friends. At least Nemanja Vidic speaks the air of caution in his thoughts on Emmanuel Adebayor.

One team’s hopes for the most unlikely of trebles will be destroyed with a loss in the FA Cup, but both teams, one feels, will be focussing more on their European exploits later in the week. Despite this, Abou Diaby reckons that there will not be a lack of intensity, in spite of his missing that match due to injury. The midfielder says:

I think we want to play well in every competition whether it’s the FA Cup, the Champions League or the League. We want to win all of them because we are a big club and we want to win trophies. This Saturday is very important to us. Maybe a win will give us a psychological advantage. We just want to give our best and win the game.

Hup hup huzzah to that. Other than that, there’s an interesting rumour circling that Lilian Thuram could be snapped up on a player/coach-role next season – playing for Arsenal for the single season before learning his coaching badges for the North London club. If you want awesome backup, even at his age, he’d be it, ol’ Lilian. He is an old Wenger protege, and while it may be wishful thinking, it is one of the cleverer rumours to be conjured up by a desperate press of late. That, and Liam Brady remains contemplative over the possibility of an Ireland appointment.

I leave you with a quick lookalike perplexing question – Does Senderos in this screenshot taken off Arsenal.com remind you of a certain Swedish midfielder? Or is it just me?

SendyJust me, then. You all stay well, and be nice to the Manchester United fans who will barge on here having only read the headline and not much else. Bless.

    Well fucking said feller!

EVERY WEEK, FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS, THERE IS A STORY IN THE PRESS ABOUT A MAN UNITED PLAYER COMING OUT AND SAYING “WE’LL WIN THE TREBLE!”, “WE’LL WIN THE C.L. THIS YEAR”, “WE’LL WIN THE LEAGUE & CUP DOUBLE…”

… and now they have the audacity to call us ARROGANT?!! ha ha!

It just shows you, they are worried! Which is a great sign people!

“5 POINTS!! MIND THE GAP!!!” ha ha

We’ll see who is crowing come sat night, arsenal fans need to remeber they have won nothing for the last 2 years and this year will be no different 😉

  3. Jezzman

Thanks Jimmybob for pointing that out… because not winning a trophy for a massive two years means we’re a spent force. Maybe you should have a look at the league table the right way up? And doesn’t matter what happens on Saturday… we’ll still be top.

And Man City doing the double over Utited? What do you say to that?

    Muppet.

Its funny, I can’t remember seeing any gooners say “we will win the league”, I am like most gooners, and most football fans, I believe my team is the best in the league – we are currently top of the table, 1 loss in the league all season, and most football pundits now saying we are looking good for the title.

So why should we not repeat that?

Man United are a club driven by fear, their supporters are a bunch of ignorant twats who have very little else going for them other than their football team.

The fact is Man Utd have spent 70m GBP on new players this season. Yet they trail the league by 5 points to a team that was assembled for less than 40m GBP.

I would be angry and embarrassed if I was a man utd supporter right now!

    Arsenal 4 life.

  14. gooners laughing at mancs

oh dear, it sounds like your club and fans are sooooo scared of us.

Selective memory and altered facts seem to be an Man U Phenomenon from the board room right through the the “sheep” that follow them!

I m really looking forward to Saturday (Not Sunday-mysterman) or maybe it is Sunday for you in the far east? Not a local fan then – quite typical really!

Cant wait for the boys to shut giggsy’s mouth up – again! It would be really good when our “shit” team and “shit” club shows the world how to play football again.

PS Hope that little shit Rooney stays on his feet!

    hahahahahah!

They celebrated like they won when they drew w/ the spuds. That must mean they think sp*rs are there betters. Remember that old canard?

  16. Eddy

If one takes a moment to think about why Giggs and his puce faced boss dislike Arsenal and Arsene so much,it is quite simple…..wouldnt you find it embarrassing if you won the Premiership and strengthened your squad by purchasing £70 million worth of players only to then wach a guy who sold our best player and once again net net spent virtually nothing in the transfer market go 5 points clear of you with 12 games to go,how fucking embarrassing.
Rio Ferdinand is a different type of defender than Kolo Toure but I would find it hard to choose between the two,so why on earth did Rio cost £28 million more than Kolo?
The most arrogant bunch in the Premiership are Manchester United without a doubt(try Terry Christian for size who may think he is being amusing but infact is really about as offensive as they come).
We shouldn’t even be paying this lot on Saturday as they should be banned for life from playing in The FA Cup as they dropped out of it some years back whilst trying to keep their eye on the bigger prize of back to back European Champions’ League Trophies whilst their press office went to work providing a cover story that “they were being put under pressure from The FA to attend the competition in Brazil as it would enhance England’s chances of bidding for The World Cup”…..oh yeah? How on earth a club attending a tournament in Brazil is goung to do that I will never know.If you watch “The Promised Land”,Sir Alex extolls the virtues of any team that has achieved their potential in Europe and is quite clear that he feels Manchester United, given the size of the club, should have a better record than two European CL trophies. It doesn’t take a genious to work out that the tournament in Brazil was far more attractive to try and achieve his European goal than a heavy winter programme and the possibility of an energy sapping 3rd round draw in on a poor pitch in mid Fanuary.
Prior to the season starting I heard nothing but how Manchester United were going to romp it and how Arsenal would struggle for 4th place and were 14-1 at the bookies. We may not win it but the fact that Arsene is able to challenge the likes of Sir Alex, whilst making do with a transfer budget up to now that Bolton would be happy with) is a testiment to his extraordinary ability as a manager.Have you ever taken time to think why Sir Alex’s relationship with Jose was quite a healthy one?Easy it is acceptable for him to be outdone by a guy who is given the sort of funds that allowed him to compete on an even keel, whereas his comtempt for Arsene is borne of the fact that as previousl stated he should be wiping the floor with someone who puts a team together for less than the cost of their main striker,Wayne Rooney.Ilike to hear Giggs and Sir Alex Ferguson carping on as it shows theyr’e stressed, and quite frankly Sir Alex’s statements about”Arsenal definately dropping points”is a bit tired and old hat and his record is a bit patchy on this issue as he was the man who predicted in 1998 that we were the one’s who should be feeling the pressure ,after Overmars scored at Old Trafford, only for us to win our last 14 games.

  17. Eddy

Mystery man,you sound like a level headed reasonable chap, maybe you could do the post match interviews for your club, for MOTD,as your manager won’t do them after The BBC broadcast a programme about his son earning millions in dodgy transfer deals for Manchester United?(Tahibi)

Nice to see so many ManYoo fans coming over to Arsenal blogs, welcome….welcome, one and all.

We Gooners recognise that the ManYoo blogs are generally crap and don’t hold your attention long enough therefore you have to keep coming over to ours and trying to stir the pot. Please continue, for every time you write on our sites it just underlines the fact that you’re a bunch of scared nancy’s.

Simple fact is that everyone wrote of the Arsenal after TH14 left, ManYoo had it in the bag apparently – if we were to believe pre-season hyperbole then we shouldn’t have even bothered turning up. Funny that isn’t it? Now the shoe’s on the other foot, ManYoo supporters are crying like babies, I mean reading these responses is like being back in Nursery.

Simple fact: ManYoo are playing catchup with the Chav’s snapping at your heels….. wouldn’t it be unfortunate if you finished behind the Chavs in 3rd after blowing all that cash in the summer? Then it’d be “oh the internationals tired our ENGLISH players out” etc etc, despite one of your OWN players (Portuguese Ronnie gel-head) getting another (Shrek) sent off in an international not too long ago – everyone hated Ron for a while, now you’re all blowing him regularly.

Win, loose or draw, Arsenal will be happy. We came from NOTHING this season, if we loose it’ll be part of the re-building process. If ManYOU LOOSE, then you’ll all be screaming that it’s the American’s fault……

Enjoy the season and please keep writing on Arsenal blogs….. we love having you here. Personally I couldn’t bring myself to even log on to a ManYoo blog, but that’s because I’m an Arsenal man…… I do wonder what you (bob, mysterman, ben & jimmybob) are as you don’t seem to be interested in your own club…

  19. gogogunners

    hahahaha

its absolutely true that manyoo blogs suck big time!

  20. l'arseman

It’s amusing that Manure fans say we won’t win the league because we haven’t won anything for 2/3/4/5/17/43/102 years (yes, they can’t get it right). Just the kind of logic you’d expect from the muppets who follow that ‘team’ which is nothing more than a magnet for plastic fans who sell tribute scarves for dead ex-players on e-bay.

I think the defence will be pretty happy to let Giggs run rings around them, and then shit their pants laughing as he goes round the goalie and tonks a shot well over an open goal, just like when we met at the same stage in 2003……

Apparently his wife was surprised because he has trouble getting it up….

    Two words….Coventry City…. HAH

I remember Manure fans getting excited when they scored seven past Roma last year, saying how they would tear apart an ageing Milan team, In the end they were savagely raped in the second leg, Cristy Cuntaldo tried doing his stepovers and tricks but each time he was floored by a clattering challenge from Gattuso. And this was a European match, meaning no shitty English referee falling for that divers tricks.

We may or may not beat Milan, but we WILL give a better account of ourselves than a bunch of overpaid overhyped diving whingeing arrogant tossers that cost a fortune to assemble.

  24. l'arseman

Who want to visit Manure blogs and forums anyway? Just a bunch of plastic fans who can’t spell properly, probably speculating about what position David Prickham uses to shag posh..

  25. Pat

Did anyone see our injury list???

This is not good. We have about 12 players out for United, and many might be doubtful for milan.

I’m really worried, for it was I who said the title could be decided by injuries.
